What to Expect
Our physiotherapists use high-quality, ultra-fine needles designed to minimise discomfort. You may feel a slight dull ache or heavy sensation, known as ‘de Qi’, which signals therapeutic activation. Needles are typically left in place for 5–30 minutes and may be gently manipulated to enhance results.
Dry needling and acupuncture can be especially helpful for:
- Chronic muscle tightness or pain
- Headaches and neck tension
- Sports injuries
- Back and joint pain
- Stress-related tension
Acupuncture and Dry Needling in Torquay
At Coastal Balance Physio, we offer dry needling and anatomical acupuncture as part of our evidence-based physiotherapy treatments. These techniques are used to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension, and support healing for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Dry needling involves inserting fine, sterile needles into targeted muscle tissue or trigger points to improve mobility and relieve pain. Acupuncture, based on traditional Chinese medicine, stimulates specific points along the body’s energy pathways (meridians) to promote natural healing and restore balance.
Both methods are drug-free, safe, and effective—often used alongside manual therapy or exercise rehabilitation.
